The Color Wheel

I learnt something really interesting a little while ago... see the two color wheels above...

The left is RGB color wheel and the right is CMYK color wheel. The white dots  are the  primary colors.

I learnt RGB color wheel in school... this is old fashioned and will produce dull colors (unless you're talented ^_^)

Apparently the new acceptable color wheel is the one on the right, with the black dot in the middle. It gives a full range of colors while RGB is limited.

Notice the difference  in the second wheel - it's more lighter because CMYK is used instead of RGB.

I noticed the difference in pixel buttons made by others... I wondered why some stood out in its color... apparently the brighter buttons had CMYK while the other buttons used RGB.

Tips for coloring

Try to use only the top side and the right hand side when coloring. The rest of the colors in the square includes grey and will dull the color.

To keep your colors pure, use tint only. If you need to darken them, use tone.

Hue is the color you want to use.
